Bread

Round homemade loaves of bread on floured surface with sprig of rosemary. Phase 2 CDED Recipe.

This bread recipe is perfect for when you're short on time. With a combination of whole wheat and spelt flour, it offers a hearty and wholesome alternative to traditional bread, using no yeast and requiring no rise time! Enjoy this bread warm from the oven or toasted with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup spelt flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, spelt flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
  • Add the water and oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until the dough comes together and there are no dry patches. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.
  • Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan and use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the top.
  • Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  • Slice and serve the bread with your favorite spreads or toppings. Enjoy!
